Aaron Lavigne Masterclass

TheatreLab Dayton is absolutely thrilled to announce an exclusive musical theatre masterclass with guest artist Aaron Lavigne! You may have seen Aaron as Jesus in the recent touring production of Jesus Christ Superstar when it played at the Schuster Center. Originally from Cincinnati, Lavigne is a singer, songwriter, and actor based in New York City. He was in the Broadway production of Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark and was also in both the Off-Broadway revival and the National Tour of RENT. Aaron writes, performs, and tours his original music, and is the founding member of Here Comes The Sun, a multi-instrumental band that celebrates the music of The Beatles. Aaron loves helping performers and musicians alike find confidence within themselves so that they can be their best selves in an audition or performance setting!

If you’re a performing artist in the Greater Dayton area interested in receiving hands-on, personalized feedback during the masterclass, TheatreLab would love to give you the chance! Please submit a video of yourself performing a 32-bar cut of a song from your current repertoire to kingm@theatrelabdayton.org. The deadline to submit a video will be by midnight on October 12, 2022. Once all of the submissions have been received, a panel of adjudicators outside of the TLD organization will review the performances and select 12 artists to participate. You will know if you’ve been selected by October 17th. The panel’s goal will be to choose a diverse group of people who best represent the beautiful artistic community that makes us proud to call Dayton our home. While only performers ages 12 and up will be selected to perform at this particular masterclass, we have many more in the pipeline to help serve local artists of all ages.

If you’re not interested in performing but still wish to view the masterclass, we have good news for you; There will be in-person and online options for viewing the masterclass and a Q&A immediately after. All are welcome! (questions will be taken from in-person viewers only).
